If you Google the name Leonard Kibiloski, be prepared for some heavy reading. Dr. Kib, as he’s known, both by patients and colleagues at OSMC, is one of the Midwest’s leading authorities on orthopedics and orthopedic surgery techniques. His name search will trigger an impressive array of citations related to academic and professional achievements as well as scientific presentations and medical publications.

Dr. Kibiloski joined the OSMC medical staff in 1992 after earning his medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit where his training included a five-year tour in both Surgical and Orthopedic residency. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Cellular and Molecular Biology.

During his academic years, Dr. Kibiloski earned numerous honors and awards including the National Dean’s List, Outstanding Young Man of America, Golden Key National Honor Society and while at the University of Michigan was a Regents Alumni Scholar. Post-graduate activities prior to joining OSMC include serving on the Michigan State Medical Society Committee on Sports Medicine and Chairman of the Wayne County, Michigan, Community Medicine Task Force.

In addition to his responsibilities as an OSMC orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kibiloski is a member of the Board of Directors at Elkhart General Hospital. He also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Indiana University’s School of Medicine at Notre Dame. He has held positions both as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Elkhart General Hospital and currently serves on Board Quality at Beacon Health Systems.

Dr. Kibiloski is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthpaedic Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the Elkhart County Medical Society, Indiana Orthopaedic Society, Indiana State Medical Society, Mid-American Orthopedic Association and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

His areas of specialty include total joint replacement, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, post-traumatic deformity, hip and knee surgery and general orthopedics. He is affiliated with both Elkhart General Hospital and I.U. Health, Goshen. His outside-the-office interests include woodworking and model rocketry, and he’s an avid outdoor enthusiast – boating, snowmobiling, bicycling, and hunting.
