Dr. Kyle Schultz joined OSMC in 2022. He attended Butler University in Indianapolis, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2010. While at Butler, he was a 4-year letter winner in baseball. The doctor then earned his master’s degree in physiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2011.
In 2016, Dr. Schultz earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri, while he simultaneously gained his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Leadership from Rockhurst University.
Dr. Schultz completed his orthopedic residency at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan in 2021. During this time, he served as an Associate Professor for Michigan State University as well as Chief Resident. In 2021-22, he pursued further training in a fellowship, where he focused on sports medicine and musculoskeletal surgical procedures at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. While in fellowship, Dr. Schultz served as a team physician for the Boston Red Sox AAA Baseball team as well as over 8 local colleges and high schools.
Dr. Schultz is a board-eligible candidate by the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is a member of several professional organizations, including Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Osteopathic Association and Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Osteopathic Service Fraternity. Dr. Schultz is also an author of 20+ research manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
His areas of specialized expertise include advanced arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, ACL reconstruction and repair, cartilage repair and rotator cuff repair. He also specializes in replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee.
When Dr. Schultz isn’t helping patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. He was raised in Granger and attended Penn High School. He is excited to return home and join a strong medical community.
