Independent Medical Exams (IME)
OSMC’s independent medical exam (IME) program provides patients, insurance companies, workers’ comp administrators, attorneys, and other interested parties with an objective second opinion related to an injured patient’s condition and prognosis. This service has proven to be particularly important in cases involving workers comp claims, automobile accident injuries, or other incidents that may involve liability issues.
The process starts with an exhaustive physician review of all medical records related to the claim, followed by a thorough physical exam of the patient. The OSMC orthopedic physician then provides a written review and evaluation – a valuable tool that all parties can use in their efforts to come to an appropriate resolution and bring fair closure to the case.
