At the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center, we take your health seriously. Our goal is to help you feel better. We can get you the orthopedic care you need, when and where you need it. OSMC offers same-day (just call us!) and convenient telehealth appointments, and our walk-in-clinics are available for urgent orthopedic needs – no appointment or referral is necessary!
We treat patients from the simplest to the most complex medical needs – from ankle sprains to hip replacement surgery to trauma. At our six convenient locations, you can receive expert physician care, x-rays, physical therapy, pain management, osteoporosis screenings, as well as care for sports or on-the-job injuries. We have an outpatient surgery center for surgeries and procedures.

Our History
In 1973, we established our first office in Elkhart, Indiana. It was called Orthopedic Surgeons of Elkhart, and it was founded by Drs. Durham, Echeverria, and Papadopoulas. That original location was just down the street from our current Elkhart location at 2310 California Road.
Within the next 20 years, we began expanding our service to the Wakarusa and Nappanee communities – as well as adding to the already robust roster of orthopedic services we offer. For example, in 1992, we added physical therapy, with pain management not far behind in 1999, shortly after our surgery center was completed. Our MRI machine was installed in 2004. Podiatry services were added in 2008.
Our expansion continued with the opening of our additional offices: in Nappanee and Goshen in 2006, and in Middlebury in 2008. We added an office at the Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center in 2019 and the walk-in clinic at that location the following year. OSMC opened a wonderful location offering appointments and a walk-in-clinic in the Granger-Mishawaka area in October of 2021. In 2023, The Surgery Center of Granger, a wonderful new out-patient surgery center opened. Plus, in the spring of 2025 the practice opened a walk-in clinic within its California Road location. Access to orthopedic care from OSMC providers is growing!
